Hi! And welcome to my blog. My name is Katy M and I am just your basic stay at home mom who is determined to find her passion to read once again. I started reading true crime books around the time I turned 13. My dad had a stack of them and I picked up The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule, about Ted Bundy. I was instantly hooked.
I grew up watching a lot of old tv shows and they have influenced my reading preferences as well. I loved watching Murder She Wrote, Rockford Files, Colombo, and Perry Mason. I love a good mystery and even more I think, cozy mysteries. I started reading Sherlock Holmes as a teen as well, as I am also a Brit loving anglophile.
I have been a stay at home mom for many years. Only in the last few years have I become obsessed with completing reading challenges on Goodreads. The challenges help me to set and reach goals that I never would have otherwise. For many years I was focused on small children but now that they are older I have more time to read. I do have other interests. I like to play RPG (role playing games) video games, go out hiking with my husband and kids and I love to watch birds and butterflies come to my yard.
I enjoy reading mysteries, true crime, some paranormal and horror and of course, a little romance here and there. I dont mind science fiction but it has be a certain type for me to get into it. For the most part if the description grabs me, Ill give it a go. I prefer hard copies but have discovered that I dont mind e-books quite as much as I thought.
